Using SYNCSORT to extract double keys records only

Hi ,

I'm trying to build SYNCSORT SORT/COPY/JOIN etc. statements to extract records that contain duplicate records only .

I used SORT and SUM with XSUM so now , I have two files with separate records for each of the double-keys records .

Now , I have to MERGE the duplicate keys but any SORT statement like JOIN/JOINKEYS does not produce anticipated results .

Can someone help ?

  • Good morning Rene ,

Thank you for replying to my question . Final output of your SYNCSORT steps does not produce what I tried to achieve .

If I follow the structure of your input records , taking the input from first two steps , than final step should give this output :

    0001AAAA
    0001JJJJ
    0001KKKK
    0002BBBB
    0002LLLL
    0003CCCC
    0003MMMM
    0009GGGG
    0009NNNN
    0010HHHH
    0010OOOO
    0011IIII
    0011PPPP
    0011RRRR
    0011QQQQ

Note that records with keys 0005 , 0007 and 0009 should not be in the output becayse they do not have DUPLICATE key . All above lines DO contain duplicate keys .

    • Good morning Rene ,

Lokks as if you solved my issue . My test case inputs do produce requested results . I'm waiting for my production peers' final verdict . I hope to have final conclusion by Sunday , October 1st .

         Thank you ,

          Asher
